La Stratégie, v. 8 (1875):
8/3 (1875-03-15), p. [65]: announcement

31/5 (May, 1876), p. 135–142: review by C. Schwede of the seven correct sets; list of awards taken from April issue of La Stratégie.

1876-05-01, p. 3: honorary mentions

N:

Originally, monsieur Nachmann was named as one of the judges. He was later replaced by Bertrand frères, who, together with Preti fils, do not appear to have been identified in any additional detail. (Preti fils is almost certanly N. Preti.)

Twenty-nine sets were contributed, one of which was withdrawn by its author. Only seven sets were found to be fully correct.

NB

As only v. 8 of La Stratégie was available for reference, I have relied on secondary sources for information published in 1876. The 3 pr. set has been taken from Deutsche Schachzeitung, which cites the Feb. 1876 issue of La Stratégie, prbs. 887–890 as source. Honorary mentions are, for now, known only as regard mottoes. The full report was expected in April.

To do: Find a copy of La Stratégie v. 9 (1876) and use as primary source reference. Find the identities of the sets awarded honorary mentions.
